Amanda helped organize transportation to take students to the Women's March on Washington in Washington, DC on January 21, 2017. Amanda knew this would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to engage in an event that stood up for women's rights as human rights. The event was in keeping with the mission of the YSU Women's and Gender Studies program - developing a new generation of scholars and leaders who respect, accommodate, and celebrate difference in human life.

Organizing the trip involved obtaining funding, arranging transportation, recruiting students, tracking students while at the event, as well as media appearances on local news.
